Notes Helen Edwards (118.1111111) e-mail to Roger Scovil 5/3/2002: "Benjamin married 2, Hannah Austin on 15 May 1828 - per Fulton County, IL marriage license. On 3 Oct 1829, Benjamin and Hannah filed for a legal separation, citing irreconcilable differences, per legal documintationfiled at the Fulton County Court on 19 Oct 1929. I don't know if that means divorce. Benjamin paid her legal trustee, Nathan Austin (Hanna's father? brother?son?) quite a bit of livestock to compensate her. I guess that could have been that era's form of alimony. It is my understanding that both Benjamin and Hannah were between 50 and 60 years old at the time, so it is possible Nathan Austin could have been her son."

"He sold his property at Hartland, Dec 5, 1800, and probably went to Ontario County, NY (Richmond) with the rest of the family and then to Ohio, but nothing has been learned as to his later history. No record of a family found."
