  "Little is known of Edward Scovell. He is called yeoman and was doubtless a farmer. The inventory of his estate amounted to 111.10.06 Pounds. Mrs. Scovell married second, at date not found, but before 1706, Deacon Benjamin Smith of Haddam, and attained the great age of 95 years."
