Marc Savoy, master accordion builder and extremely skilled musician, is someone who I respect for his idealism. He is devoted to the Cajun culture, and I admire and respect that. Too much of our regional culture in the United States and the world has been lost to the bland media oriented culture that is ubiquitous today.
Some great information about Mr. Savoy and his ideas can be found both at the website of his music store, The Savoy Music Center, located outside of Eunice, Louisiana, and at the Eunice town website. If you ever happen to be in or nearby Eunice on a Saturday morning, be sure to stop by the store from eight to noon for the jam session. It is very enjoyable, and both times I have been there it has been very crowded.
Mr. Savoy has been recorded in numerous albums and with many different people. I enjoy all of his albums.
