Visit Grand Basile, stop at the Roadhouse for a one-dollar draft beer, and ask Dolan, owner and bartender, who is the greatest Cajun musician, and he will tell you Nathan Abshire. He'll probably even go over to the jukebox and put one of Nathan's songs on, and even translate it for you if need be!
Nathan Abshire was an excellent accordion player who enjoyed a long recording career. Not only has he had his own band, The Pine Grove Boys, but he has worked with many other Cajun musicians including the Balfa Brothers.
I really enjoy Nathan Abshires albums. They are a must in any Cajun music collection.
